Mint news, GUTTERMOUTH are coming back to NZ and we're going to rock Bodega in November!
To celebrate we're going back into the studio to record a couple of songs in September, which we'll post up here before the big gig. We've also started kicking out some new jams and you can hear at least ONE this Friday the 20th @ The Garden Club in Wellington. It's the Killing Bear video release show! If you haven't checked them out yet, do so meow http://www.myspace.com/killingbear Doug has also officially left for foreign shores. We will miss your balls good buddy, sniz tickle some american bizzles for us. There are also a bunch of new photos up, thanks Kim and Susie! Finally put up some photos from Armageddon, thanks to Laura, Susie and Mamma Engelbrecht. You can find them here Never doubt how cool we are.
There are also some shows coming up. The Nana Squad are playing at Bodega as part of the Outsiders album release extravaganza on May 14th. Then the following night Dougal and Jez will have cameo roles in a bogan covers ensemble in Palmy, while Jimmy, Doug and Steph perform as the Micro Master Nana Squad at the Watusi in Wellington. Both shows will likely be miserable horrible failures, but the Outsiders release should be rockin! In other news, Jimmy just got back from Japan where he swears he didn't touch anything, Steph has been recording with Goldenhorse in Auckland, Doug has been starring in major motion pictures, Jez has been performing in the comedy festival and Dougal has been in Palmerston North. Usually we just go to Armageddon, well some of us (me) every year, but this year is a dream come true as we'll be performing during the pillow fights and light sabre duels!
I'm not going to sugar coat it, that's sweet as all fuck! If you're down there as well, come up and say hi, we have a handful of t-shirts left and we might give away some old CD's. We'll be showing our video on the big screen, in 2D! You kids might have to put down your Avatar jizrag for a second to remember what that was like. I'm drinking chocolate milk! Just like Doug Bollinger, who incedently loves chocolate, jam, space, spacejam, lego, goonies and windows XP. I'd like to point out at this time that no member of the Nana Squad is currently in the Black Caps, but they bloody well should be, having taken out their division of the greater Wellington 2020 competition. Happy Birthday's Doug and Dougal! Oh and Dougal's new amp rips your balls off, shows them to you, eats them, shits them out and throws them at you before laughing at the gaping wound where your testicles used to be and how insufficiently you'll pleasure a woman from now on. For chicks the ovaries just implode into quantum singularities before swolling existance. Great gig at Mighty Mighty last night, not too many familiar faces, so why was the place so packed? Must've been there for Vorn and The Twitch, what nice people to dance their arses off to us as well. Makes a change from frightened punters trying to avoid the thrashers and back flippers we've had recently. Lots of photos courtesy of Susie Johnson. Evil Dougal says "look at the photos" Look at those legs, sex-y.
If you're a bored teenager or out of work IT professional, perhaps you could spend your time posting our video to the four corners of the internet? While we're "stoked" with the thousands of hits it's had, it's far from the collective "pants wetting" experience we'd have if it topped a million. Maybe that'll happen after distribution to the worlds TV stations, which is happening this week.. ish. No shows on the horizon as we hunker down to do write and record, but if you absolutely have to have us for that childrens birthday party or 50th wedding anniversary, drop us a line. Also drop us a line if you have any information on Dougal's stolen gear, all very unique and would stand out for savvy muso's. For details on the equipment, please read below. Sadly Dougal's gear has been stolen. This consisted of left handed epiphone les paul, ernie ball musicman axis super sport, and mesa boogie 50/50 rack amp. All of these items are rare and pretty distinguishable. If you see them around or know anything about the theft, please contact us, no questions asked, Dougal just wants his babies back.
We don't want to have to make techno. We have uploaded photos of the gears last public appearance here. Thanks to Jane, Yvette and Susie for the pics. Party this Friday the 5th at Bodega with our old friends the The Outsiders and The Offbeats, also I Cried Wolf, who we've never heard of, but are assured aren't total rubbish. Thus we'll probably suck the hardest, and not just we're having a minor reshuffle cause Doug will be too smashed to play from the sevens.
He has promised if he can stand up, he will give us all a rendition of his new song "Lead Bag". We have several shows coming up, but first and foremost is this Friday as part of El Jaguar's Summer Fiesta De Variety! @ The Fringe Bar in Wellington. We'll be playing a couple of songs acoustically in amongst the festivities. Starts at 8pm, $10 on the door. There's also a new demo up on our facebook page
Has been an awesome response to the video, over 1000 hits in the first week, mint. Cheers everybody! If you would like to learn more about nerdxcore, your local library might be a bit of a let down. We suggest this movie! The film follows the fortunes of MC Frontalot on tour. Here's the blurb! "The laugh-out-loud story about the newest wave of hip-hop, NERDCORE "Hilariously entertaining, NERDCORE RISING introduces a new wave of hip-hop to the world called “Nerdcore” where computer obsessed geeks bust rhymes about the hard knock life of nerdom. The gut-busting comedy follows MC Frontalot the “Godfather of Nerdcore” on his first national tour where the roots of the genre, the dorky complexities of its artists, and one MC’s fight for nerd stardom is revealed." |
